"For every action" is a delightfully melodic combination of acoustic guitar and piano, gentle lilting chillout and soft progressive rock, all mixed with a powerful uplifting folk element and electronic overtones.
Combine the moving music of José González and Bon Ivor, mix with the uplifting and passionate melodies of Coldplay and Mumford & Sons, then interlace the guitar riffs of Big Country and Pearl Jam and you may be able to imagine the totally original sound of "For every action". One of two debut albums from Scambler released on 10/10/10, it's a delightfully melodic combination of acoustic guitar and piano, gentle lilting chillout and soft progressive rock, all backed by powerful and uplifting folk rhythms.
Although an acoustic album at heart, additional depth is subtly weaved throughout many songs using ambient sounds, electronic effects and keyboard manipulation. Acoustic guitar and piano are often backed with the power of a full orchestra, and many songs that start melodiously build powerfully to end in a stunning crescendo of strings, trombones and electric guitar solos.
A slight retro feel is present, and delicate use of bells, chimes, organs and flutes is often combined with choral voices and ethnic instrumentation to add a true world feel. A poignant, uplifting and original album, the like of which is difficult to find these days. Total running time: 50 minutes.
